Spirit Sperm Whale T-Shirt

Last year, October 16, we blogged about the unveiling of  Karen Hattman's 'Spirit Sperm Whale' painting to honor the sperm whale skeleton we are re-articulating. The painting is on the side of the building where the bones are becoming a skeleton again. (See bonehenge.org ).

First Calf We've Seen This Year

T

 This is the youngest live calf we have seen so far this year. Oddly we saw it in the ocean rather than in the estuary where we usually see the dolphin moms and calves. This one was very 'bouncy' and there seemed to be interaction with other dolphins in addition to mom.The sighting was on July 4, 2010.
